From the Campaign Co-Chairs

Arts Umbrella’s move to a more spacious, brighter, purpose-built facility on Granville Island marks the beginning of a new era!

A national leader in arts education for young people, Arts Umbrella is constantly pushing boundaries. A new building will allow us to keep that forward momentum and reach the new limitless. Our students will have more space to explore their creative capacity, and we’ll be able to offer more programming, and reach more children and youth throughout Metro Vancouver. Our young artists will exhibit and perform in professional spaces that feel like home, and more young people will develop their inner voices and confidence to excel in whatever life pursuits they seek.

As long-time champions of Arts Umbrella, our collective involvement extends three lifetimes. Together, we have contributed more than eighty years to nurturing and supporting youth access to the arts. And now, at this turning point, we are so excited to be leading this fundraising campaign. The Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia have contributed generously and we’re now working to raise an additional $20 million to realize this vision for Arts Umbrella — to serve the next generations of young people in our community. We hope you will join us on this journey.

With much gratitude,

Carol Henriquez, Dana Montalbano, and Barry Scott
